Biografia
My name is Osa Chomiak, and I have been competing at a national level in speed skating for the last 2 years. As a member of the Alberta Provincial team, my greatest achievements have been winning a bronze medal in the 1000m at the National Junior ST Championships in the 2023-24 season, as well as medaling twice in the 500m and 1500m in the same competition this past October, with PB’s along the way.
I started speed skating when I was 6 years old, really just out of pure curiosity. I saw the banners of the Olympian’s that have trained at the Olympic Oval in Calgary on the walls and wanted to give it a shot myself. I originally skated with Calgary Speed Skating Association (CSSA) where I worked my way through all of the youth programs. Three years ago, I was invited to train with the Olympic Oval Elite Pathway program on the Short Track team in Calgary. I push myself every week to get stronger, technically better, and faster. Being able to compete in a Canada Cup has been a dream of mine since near the very start of my journey in speed skating and am so proud to have qualified this year. I love speed skating and have big goals in this sport, including making a World Cup tour one day.
